Hola! Hace una semanas les compartí mi manera de mantenerme organizada con una típica agenda y muy a la old school, creo que algunas personas nos manejamos mejor cuando escribimos las cosas. Sin embargo, también tengo un método más digital que es el que les quiero compartir.

Como ya habrán leído en el título, mi opción preferida para organizarme es el calendario de Google y ahora que mis vacaciones están por terminar creo que es una buena oportunidad para hacer este post. Sinceramente no había explotado bien esta herramienta hasta que en un ex trabajo lo utilizábamos para mantenernos organizados y saber que tan ocupados estaban los otros miembros del equipo.

Además, creo que con las actividades que tengo y a veces con las prisas, es más fácil abrir la app en el teléfono que buscar mi agenda en la bolsa. Claro que mi agenda es mucho más específica acerca de detalles y notas.

Si ya estás familiarizado con esta app entonces no hay nada nuevo que te pueda compartir, pero sino, es totalmente una guía rápida para un begginer en google Calendar.

[ENGLISH] Hi there! A few weeks ago I shared with you my way of staying organized with a typical planner and very old school, I think some of us handle ourselves better when we write things. However, I also have a more digital method that I want to share with you.

As you have already read in the title, my preferred option to organize myself is the Google calendar and now that my vacation are about to end I think it is a good opportunity to do this post. I honestly had not exploited this tool well until in a former job we used it to stay organized and know how busy the other team members were.

In addition, I think that with the activities that I have and sometimes with the rush, it is easier to open the app on the phone than to look for my planner in the bag. Of course, my planner is much more specific about details and notes.

If you are already familiar with this app then there is nothing new that I can share with you, but if not, it is totally a begginer quick guide in google Calendar.

Los primeros pasos:

1. Un poco lógico es tener una cuenta en gmail.

2. Separa tu vida en categorías: Trabajo,  Actividades Recreativas, Hobbies, estudios, proyectos, etc.

3. Crea diferentes calendarios para cada categoría. También puedes tener uno más general si lo prefieres.

4. Asigna un color por categoría o actividad. Les comparto un ejemplo con mis actividades:

Mis actividades regulares y que tengo en un calendario general son:

• Mi trabajo como profesora en la Universidad. Por cierto ahora tengo 5 materias, ya veremos como me va con eso hihi. Cuando recibo mi horario lo primero que hago es agregarlo a mi calendario, y en este caso elegí el color verde para  la categoría
• Mi trabajo de freelance al que le dedico medio tiempo y acomodé en mis horas libres por la tarde y algunos días por la mañana.
• Mis clases de francés.
• En color lavanda generalmente son planes más sociales o con amigos y mi familia

Para los demás proyectos he creado diferentes calendarios, y lo cool de esto es que puedes mostrar u ocultar los calendarios según tus necesidades. En la siguiente imagen los pasos para crearlo, por ejemplo un calendario para organizarme con el blog y posteriormente le asigno un color:

• My work as a teacher at the University. By the way now I have 5 subjects, we'll see how it goes hihi. When I receive my schedule, the first thing I do is add it to my calendar, and in this case I chose green for the category
• My freelance job to which I dedicate part time and accommodated in my free hours in the afternoon and some days in the morning.
• My French classes.
• In lavender color they are generally more social plans or with friends and my family

For the other projects I have created different calendars, and the cool thing about this is that you can show or hide the calendars according to your needs. In the following image the steps to create it, for example a calendar to organize myself with the blog and later I assign it a color:

Hola! Sé que he estado algo desaparecida pero la verdad no es que tenga gran excusa, solo dediqué los últimos días a mi, mis proyectos y solo eso. Desde hace tiempo que no comparto una receta por aquí y quise aprovechar mi primer intento de "la tarte tatin" que hice hace unos días y compartirlo con ustedes. También darles algunas recomendaciones por si les dan ganas de hacerla y que no cometan mis errores.

De hecho, la idea de hacer este postre típico francés fue muy espontáneo y fue porque alguien me inspiró a hacerlo y me platicó de la receta y todo, así que dije "vamo'a intentarlo". 

Comenzando con los disclaimers, el molde perfecto para este tipo de postre no lo tenía, así que tuve que improvisar con mi molde de pays pero si tu puedes conseguir le molde correcto no tendrás problemas. Segundo, pueden comprar la masa de la corteza ya hecha pero yo no la encontré así que la hice. Y tercero, obviamente mi  tarta no quedó perfecta porque es la primera vez que la hago.

[ENGLISH] Hi there! I know that I have been absent here and honestly it is not that I have a great excuse, I only dedicated the last days to me, my projects and only that really. I haven't shared a recipe around here for a long time and I wanted to take advantage of my first attempt of "la tarte tatin" that I made a few days ago and share it with you. Also give you some recommendations in case you want to do it and not make my mistakes.

In fact, the idea of making this typical French dessert was very spontaneous and I was really inspired by someone who made one, he told me about the recipe and everything, so I said "let's try it".

Starting with the disclaimers, the perfect mold for this type of dessert I didn't have, so I had to improvise with my pie mold but if you can get the correct mold you will have no problems. Second, you can buy the crust dough already made but I couldn't find it so I made it. And third, obviously my tarte was not perfect because it's my first try.

Les voy a compartir los ingredientes y las porciones que yo utilicé y es para 8 porciones aproximadamente. 

Ingredientes:

• Para la corteza/crust:
• 1 taza de harina 
• 1 cucharada de azúcar
• 1/2 cucharada de sal
• 1/2 taza de mantequilla sin sal (fría)
• 1 yema de huevo
• 1 cucharada de jugo de limón

Para el relleno:

• 6 manzanas medianas
• 2 cucharadas de jugo de limón
• 1/3 taza de mantequilla sin sal
• 1 taza de azúcar
• 1 rama de vainilla o solo esencia de vainilla
• 1 cucharada de sal

1. Para hacer la corteza, hay que mezclar en un bol la harina, el azúcar, la sal, la mantequilla y posteriormente agregar la yema de huevo con el jugo de limón. 

2. Después, con las manos vamos a mezclar bien los ingredientes hasta que la masa se vaya formando

1. To make the crust, you have to mix the flour, sugar, salt, butter in a bowl and then add the egg yolk with the lemon juice.

2. Then, with our hands, we are going to mix the ingredients well until the dough forms.

3. Si sientes que la masa quedó un poco seca, puedes agregar una cucharada de agua. Luego, vamos a envolverla en plástico y refrigerarla por al menos 30 minutos. Nunca hay que dejarla más de 24 horas en el refrigerador. 

3. If you feel that the dough is a bit dry, you can add a tablespoon of water. Then, we are going to wrap it in plastic and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes. Never leave it in the refrigerator for more than 24 hours.

Para el relleno:

 1. Vamos a pre calentar el horno a  430F (220C)

2. En el recipiente correcto (pueden buscar en internet el molde correcto) para este postre se va a preparar el caramelo, en donde posteriormente vamos a agregar las manzanas cortadas (el jugo de limón es para que las manzanas no se oxiden). En mi caso, tuve que hacerlo en un sartén normal. Para el caramelo vamos a agregar la mantequilla, la taza de azúcar, la vainilla, y la cucharada de sal y lo revolvemos hasta que la textura sea como caramelo y adquiera un tono dorado.

For the filling:

1. We are going to preheat the oven to 430F (220C)

2. In the correct container (you can search the internet for the correct mold) for this dessert the caramel will be prepared, where later we will add the cut apples (the lemon juice is for the apples don't get oxidized). In my case, I had to do it in a normal skillet. For the caramel we are going to add the butter, the cup of sugar, the vanilla, and the tablespoon of salt and stir it until the texture is like caramel and acquires a golden hue. 

4. In this part is when we add our dough on top of the filling that we have prepared and then we put it in the oven.

In my case, I had to do it the other way around, take out the apples and the caramel and add them to my pie mold where I already had my dough on.

5. We are going to leave it in the oven for 10 minutes with the pre-heated oven temperature, and then lower the oven to 375F (190c) and leave it for another 20 minutes.

* My mistake: as I passed the filling to my mold, I didn't use all the caramel because I thought I didn't need it all, big mistake, since when it is ready the caramel becomes solid and is mixed with the apples.

Y voilá! El modo de servido es caliente y agregando una bola de nieve de vainilla encima y aunque mi primer intento no quedó perfecto, el sabor si quedó delicioso y a mi familia le encantó!

Et voilá! The way of serving is hot and adding a vanilla snow globe on top and although my first attempt was not perfect, the flavor was delicious and my family loved it!

Después de mi primer intento y de mi error de no usar todo el caramelo, en mi segundo intento dejé todo el caramelo y ya no quedó tan seco como la primera versión.

After my first try and my mistake of not using all the caramel, on my second try I left all the caramel and it was no longer as dry as the first version.
